Note: For FEM simulations using the dot as decimal separator is highly recommended to get correct results. For example on a German Windows, when you set the interface language to English and select the new option Use selected language number format, the dot will be used as the decimal separator. It is now possible to use the decimal separator belonging to the language specified for the FreeCAD interface. The new tool Section Cut allows to get non-hollow and also persistent cuts of parts and assemblies. In the image the Hole001 object was selected and then itsĭependencies were added to the selection via the context menu. The Tree view context menu has the new entry Add dependent objects to selection. If a selected edit mode is not applicable, the object's default edit mode is used instead. Click the image on the left so see an animation of the selection. The new Std UserEditMode command allows the user to choose an edit mode that will be used when an object is double-clicked in the Tree view. This is also the name of the page that documents the command in the Wiki. At the end of the tooltip the "internal" command name is added in parentheses: (Std_WhatsThis). Tooltips now display the command name in the title, making it easier for new users to look for help. The size of the cube can now be adjusted with the Cube size preference.By clicking the new round button in the top right corner you can quickly switch to the backview of the current scene. To experience the difference try the same click sequence as in the animation with and without the option Rotate to nearest. Else clicking a face will always result in the same rotation. If selected, the 3D view is rotated to the nearest most logical position, based on the current orientation of the cube, when a cube face is clicked. A new preference Rotate to nearest has been introduced. There are now edge faces to rotate the 3D view 45°.When you first use the Help tool or the What's this? tool you will be asked to install it. Because the dark theme sucks somewhere.FreeCAD 0.20 was released on 14 June 2022, get it from the Download page. Can other Themes be had?īTW I'm using the gray theme, so some one is using it , The Gray and Light Themes suck and no one uses them. now when I use a software which do not work with drag 'n drop like Ksnip where you need to click File, then click again on Open, choose a file then click again on OK, " I find it unimaginable that after all these years that no one has built a" drag 'n drop With GIMP you drop the file on the tools side or on the layer side depending what you are looking forīut even worse. Visualization of your thumbnails the size you want I use Alt+Tab, not only with GIMP, but with every software, as nowadays 99.99% of software just work by drag 'n drop.Ģ clicks less (no more click on File, then Click Open.) So for many years using the shortcut Alt+Tab between a directory full of photos (where I can increase or decrease the thumbnails sizes) and GIMP, I thought that no one was using this window-browser. which is way faster, way better, and in the end you got the final option to drop in the tools box to open as new image or drop in the layer's dialogue to open as new. I don't remember how or why, but I started to use Alt+Tab. Then I removed my blinkers (yes, I did wear horse's blinders for many years), I even got very-very upset about this stupid ante antediluvian window-browser pre-2k which was never updated. I can understand what you mean as I was like that many-many years ago, I absolutely wanted to pass by File > Open. I find it unimaginable that after all these years that no one has built a Module or Plugin for Gimp to view Thumbnails of our work right in the Gimp Program. Looks like GIMP is not going to suit me then, thanks again for the help. in the "Open Image" window, is there a way to have the files shown as thumbnail view instead of list view? Having to click on each file name to see the thumbnail image in the far right of the window is very slow.
